NetSuite is an integrated business management software suite which was made for mid-sized enterprises and larger companies. The software was originally called NetLedger by the main founder, Larry Ellision. The online business software includes major components which are essential to the management of a successful business including; enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, e-commerce and website development, and accounting.
What makes the software so unique is it is built around a single customer record. Because of this, accounting, sales, support, billing and shipping all use the same information. This makes it easier for every interaction. Vital business information is given in real time which makes customer service more efficient. Growing client load and business throughput is easily accommodated with NetSuite software.
Some of the key benefits include better business management. Every manager and employee has the tools at their finger tips to manage an entire team or business with streamlined operations. Business owners can save more money by eliminating IT maintenance and expensive upgrades. No onsite software or special hardware is needed. Companies can free up their time by eliminating data re-entry. Everything is built on a single record including accounting and sales-to-order management so everything stays synchronized.
The company was founded by Evan Goldberg. His business partner Lawrence J. Ellison, the CEO of Oracle corp., was also a primary founder of the company. Other key early investors who believed in the project were UBS PaineWebber and StarVest Partners. The NetSuite has over 1000 people employed and they have multiple offices located in San Mateo, California. Other key locations include Colorado, Boston, Denver, Massachusetts, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
Some of NetSuite's basic products include payroll, NetSuite Global CRM, Openair and Dedicated Server Options. NetSuite Oneworld was introduced to the market for multi-national organizations. A business can manage multiple legal entities and business units and the product allows for the handling of different currencies, reporting requirements and taxation rules. The users on the local level can get an application in their language of choice and can transact in the local currency with financial compliance. This can also be done with local taxes. Many countries are supported as the software is available in over 12 languages.
NetSuite also has their own list of partners. They work with VARs which are located internationally. Their role is to provide expert assistance to the customers. Add-ons are available along with customization. They also have a BPAC (Business Parnter Advisory Council) who makes sure to provide input to product development.
